A remake full-stack web application for the mobile device repair guidance app and community
- Re-architected the platform around a rebuilt homepage, cleaner URL structure (/instructions/, /review/, /blog/), and a refreshed visual system
- Reworked the application's content structure and built dynamic feeds for top-rated repair instructions, reviews, repair-case articles, YouTube videos, and Shorts
- Rebuilt the user and community layer, including authentication, user profiles, author information, and the Q&A workflow for submitting and answering questions
- Integrated an AI model into the development process to analyze the existing rebuilt application and help process and reconstruct its content and functionality
- Added light/dark theme switching, cookie consent, and dedicated cookie and privacy-policy pages
- Integrated social media and messaging services into the platform
- Reworked media delivery with WebP thumbnail generation and caching, together with a responsive, mobile-first interface
Challenges
The initial task was to fix errors in the existing application. However, an assessment showed that simple fixes would not be enough. The project required a complete overhaul of the database and site architecture, including removing and rebuilding outdated functions and classes, updating or replacing libraries, and integrating AI models.
The work was further complicated by a large number of duplicate and obsolete elements, as well as a bloated and poorly structured database that had accumulated over the years.
Solution
We rebuilt the existing system from the ground up, from templates and views to core functions and data structures. The new version integrates AI for text generation, data processing, and translation.
The database was redesigned around the new requirements, outdated libraries and components were replaced with modern alternatives, and additional security measures were implemented to protect the application from external attacks.
